Our story

1940:  The Friesacher Linen Weaving Mill was established in the town of the same name by Mr. Steinhauser.

 

1952: SEIDRA Linen Weaving Mill was founded in the Kärnten Gailtal region.

1968: Mr. Michael Mitterer-Kuhn joined the Friesacher Linen Weaving Mill. The production gradually shifted from home textiles to clothing fabrics, which received excellent feedback in the traditional clothing scene. Also in 1968, the knitting mill was put into operation at the newly established location in Hermagor.

1969: the construction of our own spinning and dyeing facilities began, each at its own location. At that time, SEIDRA had production facilities in Draschitz, Nötsch, Hermagor, and was building a plant in Kötschach Mauthen. A sales office and warehouse were established in Vienna due to exports and connections to important logistics companies." 

1970: After a decline in business, SEIDRA Linen Weaving Mill in Draschitz filed for bankruptcy. Operations in Friesach continued.

 

1970:  Dr. Helmut Isepp took over the business, restructured the company, and successfully rebuilt it. 
 

1990:  The construction of a new weaving hall and the renewal of nearly all weaving machines took place at the Draschitz location. 

2000: The knitting mill was relocated from Hermagor to the main facility in Draschitz. Additionally, investments were made in new Jacquard knitting machines.

 2006:  The linen weaving mill in Friesach was closed in 2006 and integrated into SEIDRA's main facility. 


2012:  The sales office and warehouse were relocated from Vienna to the main facility. This strategic move was essential for promptly responding to market conditions and special developments.

 

2016:  New investments were made in weaving machines, including a new Jacquard machine, as well as weaving preparation. 

 

2018:  The acquisition of another Jacquard machine, as well as a new warping machine, was made to adapt to market changes. 

 

2021:  An investment was made in two Dornier weaving machines. 

2023:  An investment was made in knitting machines.

2024:  Two new weaving machines have been invested in.

2025:   Two Jacquard machines have been purchased.
